Capt. Lacey Kelly

Hi my name is Lacey and I’m from Florida, 5 generations deep. For those that know me personally I think that I’ll keep this short as possible but this section is ultimately for those that I have not yet crossed paths with!

Here’s the short version of where I’m from, why I chose to be a guide, as well as why you should fish with me.

I grew up in Estero, Florida, frequenting the flats from Estero Bay north to Boca Grande and every shoreline in between. While poling you down the flats of the Nature Coast of Florida I would love to tell you about my family settling in Florida in the late 1800’s and the untold stories of “Old Florida” that I’ve been trusted with to pass down.I’m a west coast girl, Southwest Florida is ground zero but the curiosity killed the cat and I’ve ventured all over this side of the state chasing fish, mainly tarpon, snook and redfish.

It’s likely during my childhood into my adulthood that I spent more time under the water than above it thanks to my Dad who was and still is an avid spearfisherman. In turn having an in depth knowledge of our fishery from the bottom up to the surface has its advantages when guiding folks into fish.

What makes a guide a “good," guide? Guiding is a profession that requires a high level of patience, persistence, and passion in my opinion. When it comes down to it guiding is quite frankly just in my nature, I love people and it’s my ultimate goal to ensure not only that you have success but that you enjoy your time spent on the water.

I’d love to get to know you, to fish with you, to hear your stories while we experience the beautiful Nature Coast of Florida.
